How to Style a Sheer Top
We like transparency in our lives, our work and our relationships. So why not have transparency in our clothes. 😉
I am talking about Sheer Clothing. The moment they entered the fashion world, I was in Love with them. There is not much to them and yet there is so much to them.
Sheer simplicity of these Sheer Tops gives us so many options to style them. They can make you look edgy and pretty at the same time. Let me show you how.
The Sheer Top I am styling today is a Red colored Net Sheer Peplum Top. I like it for its simplicity and multiple ways I can style it. I absolutely love the color. The Peplum part adds femininity to this Sheer Top.
The trick to styling a Sheer Top is to choose what to wear under it. The plainer the top, more are the options.
First option: Bra/Bralette
Wear a cool bralette underneath. They come in such varieties. Here I have paired with a simple caged bralette. Since the top has this pretty frill, I did not need a very funky bra/bralette. The front is plain but the back is a cage of straps(I lost the back pic 🙁 ). I have chosen black because it looks amazing with red(Though black looks amazing with everything). I can simply say that black and red combo is epic.
You can go crazy with different patterns and colors of Bra/Bralette available today. You can go for neon or metallic, Lace or Plain, Bikini or Blouse. The options are endless. If you have a plain Sheer Top wear it with statement Bra/Bralette and steal the show.
A Bralette/Bra is a great option when you are partying. To match the party theme, I have paired it with a bold statement choker.
To complete this look, I went for Black Wedged Boots. You could also pair Black Stappy heels with this look.
Option 2: Sports bra
It is not as bold as Option 1 and can be worn casually for your day out. This is a good way to flaunt your Calvins or your Sports Bra, outside your Gym.
I paired it with a cool horse neck piece.
Block heels are easy and comfortable to move around in. I love these color blocked block heels which go perfectly with this outfit. They are also very comfortable as they are not very high.
Overall this is a comfortable yet chic way to Style your Sheer Top. I think this outfit can even pass for a date.
Option 3: Camisole
This option can be worn anytime and anywhere. Either going out or to work.
It is simple and chic. You can go for tanks or strappy camisoles(or other options).
I paired this with a smaller Beads Choker to keep it simple and classy.
With metallic brogues to keep it trendy. Brogues is a comfortable yet stylish option, which can make any outfit look trendy. I think even this look can pass for a casual date.
And yes for all these looks, I went for skinny jeans as this a top as it is little loose and flowy. Though it can be paired with shorts as well as skirts. For skirts, you could either wear a pencil skirt underneath as it is a peplum top or a high waist skirt of any type over it.
For a plain Sheer top, the options are endless. Wear it with what you like and how you like. Experiment with colors and patterns. You could also wear Sheer tops over your Bodycon or Lace dresses.
