Fall-ing with the Florals
I am back with another requested post : Maxi dress for Brunch.
Yes, we can very well wear a Maxi Dress for brunch. In fact, now I cannot think of a better way to dress up for brunch especially in this Fall season.
Being an Army kid, Sunday brunches were part and parcel of my life. They make me so happy. It is the most cheerful time. The bright sunny weather, the relaxed vibes, the amazing food and ofcourse the hearty talks with your friends and family. It is a perfect way to unwind after a long week of work and boring diets.
For this cheerful occasion, I like to dress up bright and happy. To convey that vibe in this Fall season, going floral is perfect. Floras are so in. You can find them on every piece of clothing and in every form of design and work. From jeans, tops, shoes to prints, patch and embroidery.
For the brunch, I chose simple printed maxi dress in happy colors.
However, It is the design of this dress that takes it to the next level. The straps with the plunging neckline adds that oomph factor, while the bow along with the print adds femininity to this dress. It also makes it look more like a day dress Sans that bow, with the cutout above that waist, this can be a perfect dress for a dinner, be it a date or an event. However, not so much for night life.
Since, we are talking about day time dressing here, I have kept the makeup minimal with perfect winged liner and soft pink lips.
The hair is ofcourse brought forward to flaunt that sexy back. You could even tie it up in a messy bun or do a side braid.
I did not want to pile up on accessories so as to let the dress do all the talking. However, this lovely dress did deserve pretty companions. For plunging necklines or bare shoulders, I usually prefer wearing neck pieces that go around my collar. To keep it minimal, I layered these delicate golden chokers. I totally love them. They are simple yet so classy.
To keep up with the accessories, added this pretty rose gold watch. If you have not already realized, I am a watch person. They are perfect accessories for any outfit.
If this look is too girly or over the top for you or if it is cold outside, you could just add a denim shirt or jacket on top of it. Denims are perfect with florals or girly dresses for that girl next door vibe.
You can tie it up at waist if you do not want that laid back look. Though you have to button up or roll up those sleeves which I forgot to, in the below pic.
You can even button up the shirt for a smarter look with those feminine vibes intact.
Or just button it halfway if you want to keep it sexy chic.
Now the shoes: Again, it totally depends on your vibe. If you are feeling casual and want comfort, go ahead and wear those white sneakers. They go perfectly with any outfit and have the added advantage of comfort.
If you want to keep it all chic, wear your heels.
So go ahead and have that hearty brunch and enjoy your time while looking all chic and happy. Might as well go shopping with your girls post that brunch. Yes, this look is perfect for shopping or movie with your girlies too.
